Honduran Indigenous Leader of COPINH in Chicago

3 months after the assassination of COPINH leader Berta Cáceres there is still no justice for her or her organization, only more threats and violence. Tomás Gómez Membreño has filled Berta's role as General Coordinator of COPINH and will be in Chicago Wednesday, June 8th to build international solidarity with the Honduran resistance movement and the Lencan people's struggle for their land.

1) On June 8th join us first at a press conference at 11 am at the Federal Plaza when we will deliver a letter to Senator Durbin demanding an end to all security aid to Honduras.

2) Then at 6:30 pm come and hear Tomás speak at Citlalin Cultural Center, 2005 South Blue Island Ave in Pilsen.

These events are sponsored by La Voz de los de Abajo Chicago, Chicago Religious Leadership Network on Latin America and Witness for Peace Upper Midwest.
