UN Special Rapporteur visits Rio Blanco - Relatora Especial de la ONU visita a Rio Blanco, Honduras
The visit of Victoria Tauli-Corpuz, the U.N. Special Rapporteur for the Rights of Indigenous Peoples to Rio Blanco, Intibucá, Honduras on November 7, 2015 coordinated by the Civic Council of Indigenous and Popular Organizations of Honduras (COPINH). The Special Rapporteur heard the testimonies of the family members of the victims of the struggle against the construction of the hydroelectric dam Agua Zarca on the Gualcarque River. She also heard the testimonies of the lenca people from various parts of the country, in defense of their territories, public spaces/resources, and culture.
